Hello everyone and happy new year. Does anyone have a method on how to create a customized auto play banner (I also want to add transparent call to action buttons). When I follow the video tutorials found on YouTube, I cannot find the section needed.
Also, I am using 15.4.1. I am aware on where to add sections, but I cannot edit the codes.
Hello everyone, I was able to figure it out. Next challenge: adding interactive buttons.
Can you share the store url so that I can take a look and then provide you the solution code.
Also, share the reference site, on how you want the Button to be transparent.
Thanks
Happy New Year, thank you so much! I’m not familiar with any of this, so please bare with me. This is my URL: https://shopify.com/96149635366/account
And attached is what I would like to see on top of the banner. If an animation could be included, that would be amazing.
Hi @thall0091 these are peer to peer forums not private emergency support.
Everyone’s desperate, everyone wants more money for less yada yada.
Set reasonable expectations , write clear titles that communicate a goal and don’t cry wolf.
Or end up getting ignored by us experts when you have a serious problem.
For small style changes like transparent buttons just search first it’s a rule and just a good habit of successful merchants.

For advanced theme customizations you can try to burn your own time on the AI assistant to generate a section>block that might meet the requirements
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/customizing-themes/theme-editor/shopify-magic/generate-blocks
Or hire someone if the AI isn’t a good use of your time.
Keep in mind marquees, slideshows , excess animations are user annoyances , anti-pattern.
Often as bad business discipline from lack of inability to PRIORTIZE one actual important thing the bad choice then becomes just try to cram more noise into less space.
Hello Paul, what you may deem as an emergency may be deemed as an emergency to me and vise versa. I asked for assistance, not rudeness. Nonetheless, thank you for the information provided, as I have attempted to navigate building the website myself. I was told about receiving help from this board after my own attempts have not provided to be successful.
Hey, I’m James a Software Developer new here.
I agree with your statement that this forum is the place where everyone should respect each other. This is not to disrespect without any reason. @PaulNewton must be patience in this matter.
Sometimes, merchant don’t know the scope of the work. But it’s way important to guide them properly and let them the scope of the work properly.
For what @thall0091 asked for, is really possible to provide the solution here. Anyway @thall0091, can you share your store url so that we community members can take a look into your store section and provide you the solution.
Hello James, thank you so much.
My URL is: https://shopify.com/96149635366/account, and I if I need to take it off of private mode, I can do so. I’m not sure if you saw the screenshot upthread, but I want to be able to use call to action buttons on top of the video, given that I want my video banner to be the “main” banner.
I have come across codes to add as a custom liquid, but it didn’t work out too well for me, given that the space was still blank.
Gotcha I see that you have share the sign in URL. Can you share the actual store URL instead.
Try not to confuse solid professional advice with disrespect…
Keep in mind that code is VERY specific. So you want to be as specific and narrow with your request as possible. i.e. “how to remove this blank space” and provide theme, url, and screenshot. Broad questions like “how to create an auto-play banner” would be more suited to Google. In fact, many responses here are simply copy and pasted results you find on Google anyway.
Hi @thall0091
Happy New Year to you, too.
You are new, and that is OK. Still when asking for assistance, add some important details.
The URL you posted is not what we need. It is clearly a login page.
We need your domain, a front-end URL and if is it is password-protected, then the password too. If you do not have a domain, then it is in the format store id.myshopify.com, that work too.
Aslo from the image, it seems you are using the Canva app for designing pages? I have never use it and so probably many others. So contact app developers if possible. But for small style changes, maybe we can help if we had access to the front-end of your store.
Thank you Maximus and Laza, respectfully, I do not take professional advice as disrespect, however unwarranted snarkiness will not be received well by me.
My domain is www.prettypolishedhair.com, URL: https://shopify.com/96149635366/account and my password is “Thatshott1!” I believe.
Once again, I appreciate everyone’s assistance, but I am also asking for respect, as I have not been disrespectful to anyone. Also, the codes that I have found have come from Google searches (which did help with the auto play issue), but once again, the execution is not happening
. I have seen banners that clearly have what I am looking to do, but it’s a matter of doing it correctly that I haven’t been able to grasp.
Thank you everyone once again. The assistance is very appreciated.
And also, yes I am using Canva for my banner templates. I was able to complete a website with still images and text before, but what I am attempting is completely foreign for me.
We know that you are new in Shopify ecosystem. Upon checking I found that the password you shared is not correct.
Can you follow these steps to check the password.
Go to Shopify Admin —> Online Store —> Preferences —> Password
Once you have the correct password then share it with us.
My apologies! It’s “thatshott”. I am so sorry.
No Problem. I have just check and I see you already add the banner but don’t added the buttons.
In this case I highly recommend you to hire the Shopify Dev. It’s the advance level customization in which where it’s need to add the transparent buttons on the video. Expert Dev will help with adding the buttons on the banner according your desire.
thank you for your help.
Check this article https://buymeacoffee.com/namphan/how-create-video-banner-section-dawn-theme from @namphan
It gives you a video, but with 2 buttons. For 3rd you can ask a new question after you set it up.
You can also check the popular app Section Store: Theme Sections - Section Store - Shopify Sections | Shopify App Store but not sure if there is an option for the 4th button, as I saw a few examples with 2.
And one last thing, you did not ask for advice, but still, that video banner is not important, as you should focus on product, collection, and navigation first. And use the sections you have, then later try to make custom changes. Note that Dawn theme have limits and it will not match “the luxury that your customers deserve”
And do use this community also for learning, search for “no sales” and “zero sales” with “store feedback” so you could maybe miss some mistakes a lot of people make.
Good luck.
Thank you. I initially wanted to use two buttons, so I will check out the article link. As it relates to the text in my video in comparison to the rest of the site, lol, thank you. That part of the website I have not neglected, and I deleted a lot of what was done previously, last night. I am pivoting with products that I would like to offer, therefore I will have to start over with product collections and the sort. I understand that products are ultimately the reason why the website is in existence, but I still would like for it to be nice.
