Dawn Speed Bottleneck Optimization

I have been trying to improve my Shopify Dawn website speed for better Google rankings (reducing the top image size, removing some custom css), but couldn’t reach an improvement.

If it’s not hard for anyone to take a look, I would very much appreciate it.

Yeah the Dawn theme is already pretty optimized out of the box so you’re probably hitting diminishing returns. The biggest speed killers are usually apps and custom sections more than the theme itself. What apps are you running and how many custom sections do you have on the homepage?

0 custom sections + attaching apps + I also have Google and Youtube sales channel

TTFB of 1.5s looks a bit too much to me in your PageSpeed results.

And that parameter affects FCP and LCP.

Mainly this is how much time Shopify server spends processing your liquid.

PageSpeed show this as a historic data though, so maybe not relevant anymore – my tests do not show same, but –

Install a “Shopify theme inspector for Chrome” extension to understand why.

• Uninstall any apps you don’t use or that aren’t relevant to your business.

• Optimise by uploading images in WebP format (see attached screenshot). Smaller file sizes with the same quality mean faster loading times. I hope your project goes really well!!
