I am working with the Dawn theme and trying to figure out how to add the VAT number as an input field on the order checkout. I came across many suggestions that implied editing the code on “checkout.liquid”, however it looks like I do not have access to this using this theme. Can anyone help, please?

Thank you for your question. Please note that the checkout.liquid theme template cannot be accessed by merchants who are not on the Shopify Plus plan, as editing the checkout’s code is a Plus-only feature.
An alternative option would be for you to edit your theme’s language and amend an existing field to one where you ask for the customer’s VAT information.
Sufio’s invoicing app can provide you with both capturing VAT number on either cart, Customer Registration page or Customer Account page
