Dawn theme blog post title and text colour change

Topic summary

A user is experiencing a color visibility issue with their first blog post in the Dawn theme. While the blog listing page displays correctly, individual blog post pages show white title and body text, making content unreadable.

Proposed Solution:
Navigate to Online Store > Themes > Customize, then select Blogs > Default Blog Post from the dropdown. In the “Main content” or “Blog post” section, adjust the Color scheme setting to one with dark text on a light background (such as “Background 1” or “Scheme 1”). The current scheme likely uses white text intended for dark backgrounds.

Alternative Approach:
Another community member offered to provide custom CSS code to change text color to black if the store URL is shared.

The issue remains unresolved pending the user’s response or implementation of the suggested fixes.

I’m using the dawn theme and I am ready to go live.. the only problem now is that I wanted to a post my first blog post already. However, when posting the blog everything seems fine on the blog post page. but when opening my first post, the title and main text seem to be white.. I have looked far and wide for a solution which doesnt seem to work?

Hey @koen1

Welcome to Shopify Community! Can you share your Store URL so I can have a look on it? Also, if you have password enabled then please share the password as well. Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

The color issue can be fix in the Theme Editor by following steps:

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize

  2. Select Blogs > Default Blog Post from the top dropdown menu.

  3. Select “Main content” or “Blog post.”

  4. Check the Color scheme setting and ensure that it is set to a scheme that has dark text on a light background (For example: “Background 1” or “Scheme 1”).
If it is set to something like “Scheme 2” or “Background 2” these might have white text for dark backgrounds.
