Dawn theme: Collection list doesn’t update

Helloo,

I’ve been having my shop for over a year and I’m updating it as we speak. But whenever I create a new collection, and want to add it to my page, it doesn’t show in the collection list. Please see screensshots:

for example “Multi Pigment Colors”

The collection is set to manual and products are added. I can even go to the collection from “View collection”, add products to my cart and check out. So the collection is active.

But when I want to add the collection to my page, it’s not available. The collections that show are collections I made before today. All new collections made today, are not showing up.

I’ve checked everything. Deleted them, tried again. But nothing.

Hi, @SimplIssyDesign . I can definitely look into this with you! I just have a few questions to make sure I give you helpful advice going forward.

  • Can you walk me through how you are creating your new collections?
  • When did you first notice this issue? For example, have you had problems like this when adding new collections in the past or is this the first time you are doing this?
  • Are these collections published to the Online Store sales channel?
  • Have you tested this out using any other browsers or devices?

To start troubleshooting this I recommend navigating to the collection in your Shopify admin by going to Products > Collections and selecting the collection you want to add to your ‘Collection list’ section. Here, you can double check that the collection is published to the Online store sales channel by viewing the Publishing area. If the collection is not published to the Online Store sales channel you can fix this by clicking the Manage button. You can find more information on managing collections here, including the steps to ensure they’re published to the correct sales channels.

Once you’ve checked this, please try to add the collection to the ‘Collection list’ section in your theme editor again. Please also make sure to scroll down when viewing the list of collections to make sure you’re seeing all of the available collections. It looks like you’re using a mobile device so sometimes collections can be hidden if you don’t scroll all the way down to see them all.

If it’s still not working after that I recommend testing this out using another browser or device. For example, a laptop or desktop computer instead of a mobile device. This can help us determine what’s causing the issue.

Thank you for your reply. The day after I created this post, all created new collections were suddenly visable. :sweat_smile: It’s pretty weird, it’s like it needed some time? Maybe a glitch?

Anyway! I’m happy it works again and the advice you wrote will help greatly in the future. Thank you!
