Dawn Theme Design: Sticky header is not sticky

Hi All,

In my dawn theme published https://videsidesserts.com/, although the header has been customized to be sticky, it is not working as intended. Please help if I am missing out on anything.

Please help!

The alternate sticky header is a customization that the Shopify Themes Support team can handle for you as it is supported by their design policy. That is why you can see “15 mins” at the top of the document, which indicates how much time will be used for the 60 minutes free design time available for Shopify free themes.

If you were to reach out to their Support through the help center page, the support advisors could process your request for that customization.

Do please bear in mind that by default, Dawn’s sticky header setting is a partial sticky header, which is a persistent header that displays only when a customer scrolls up. Also, it should be avoided in stores that have all of the page content visible at all times. So it’s worth asking yourself if you need a permanently sticky header at all!

Meanwhile, you can try the CSS which is enabling this is:

.shopify-section-header-sticky {
  position: sticky;
  top: 0;
}

Copy

This has good browser support but may not work on older browsers. For older iPhone models, you can use:

.shopify-section-header-sticky {
  position: -webkit-sticky;
  position: sticky;
  top: 0;
}

Copy

This worked on an iPhone 6 running iOS 12.5.5.
