Can someone explain the difference between a draft order (created by customers) and an abandoned cart.
We have tons of draft orders being created by customers as well as abandoned carts and cannot figure out what the difference is nor any setting that allows customers to create a draft order.
Appreciate any insight as I can’t find this explained anywhere.

Draft order can’t be created by a customer that order created by Shopify Admin user, please refer below quote and link for more detail.
Shopify admin. You add the customer details and products, and then send an invoice, collect payment, or set payment terms.> > When the order is paid for or when you set payment terms, the draft order converts to an order and is listed on your Orders page.

Abandoned carts are created by the user.
This is the core difference between Draft order and Abandoned cart. Seems you have multiple admin users therefore you got confused between them.
As I stated, they are automatically being created. We are not manually creating them and we do know the difference.
We’ve traced the start of them to the implementation of a discount app, which we believe may be automatically creating draft orders. We have reached out to the app support team as their documentation does not specifically state this.
