Ok do I did some digging and found something out. Apparently if I add an announcement bar to the top of my site, the footer stays attached to the bottom of the page. I don’t think that’s true - there’s many posts about a similar issue here, although they seem to be for older versions. I even contacted Shopify support and they couldn’t figure it out.

I have Craft theme and tried the “Announcement Bar” trick and it worked for me as well. These are senseless frustrations with Shopify and such a waste of time trying to figure out, what should be, simple, common sense things.

The footer is fixed at the bottom by default. You or someone else must have modified the theme code.
