Dawn theme footer links: left alignment and multi-column?

In Dawn 9.0.0 I’m attempting to add standard footer links via menus, e.g. Contact us, Returns, FAQ etc.

On desktop it is center-aligning the menu items in a horizontal row.

We want them displayed the old way, like how they are in the Dawn demo store: i.e. multi-column left-aligned on desktop:

When I try and add a Section there’s only a limited selection, unlike adding Sections on any other part of the page:

It looks horrendous if you have more than a few links. It spills onto a second line, and the items don’t align with each other:

Has Shopify decided that footer links should now be horizontal? (if so, what a silly decision)

Am I missing something?

Can anybody help restore the previous footer layout?: i.e. vertical menus and multi-column.

Hi @eggplanted

This is BSS Commerce - Full-service eCommerce Agency. We’d love to suggest you this solution:

  • Because Shopify divides blocks in the footer into columns as below:

  • If you want your links to appear as columns, you can try adding more menu blocks:

Hope this can help you.

Kind regards,
