I can’t see the payment links on my footer, even when i’ve checked the ‘payment icons’ box. Please help.
Hi there, @LuxeFam . Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community with your payment icon situation. It’s nice to meet you!
I just have a few questions that I’m hoping you can answer so I an led a hand:
- Have you recently made any changes to the coding of your theme or footer?
- Can you let me know the steps you took to try to make the payment icons appear?
- If possible, can you provide me with a screenshot of the checkbox that you mentioned in your post? That way, I can make sure we’re clicking the correct box.
Follow up with me when you can! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your reply!
Hello @marvellousr
To provide you with the most precise solution in this case, could you please share your page URL ( with pass if your store password is enabled ) and a screenshot about your setting in the Shopify admin?
Thank you and hope to hear from you.
Best regards,
GemPages Support Team
Hey again, @LuxeFam . Thanks for following up with us here, and providing us with that screenshot!
I can see in your screenshot there that you have the ‘show payment icons’ checked off. When making changes to your theme, it’s important to making sure that you’re clicking ‘save’ to make sure those changes stick to your theme. I’d appreciate it if you could provide us with a link to your store so we can see if the payment icons are appearing from our devices. Sometimes, changes you make to your theme don’t update immediately, but if we can see them when we view things from our devices, we can know that the changes stuck.
If it turns out that the icons don’t appear for other users when they view the store, then you’ll want to reach out to our Live Support Team for some assistance. They’ll be able to authenticate you, and investigate if a code change or an app has impacted the ability of these icons to appear in your theme.
‘Luxury Decor by Ray’ is the name of my store. I have ticked and save
unticked and saved, but it doesn’t show. Kindly xheck and give me feedback
Thanks for passing along your store now, @LuxeFam ! Unfortunately, as the forums aren’t an authenticated channel for support, I’m not able to search internally for that store name. I did a google search but wasn’t able to find anything matching that name exactly. Are you able to provide me with a URL to your shop so I can see things that way?
https://luxury-decor-by-ray.myshopify.com/ is the URL. May i ask how i can
put my shop on google?
Hey again @LuxeFam . Thanks for following up with me.
I appreciate you providing that link! I took a moment to check out your site and footer and can confirm that the payment icons aren’t appearing there. This leads me to think that there’s a coding issue with your footer preventing the icons from appearing, but we can do a test to confirm that.
Please, download a new, fresh copy of the ‘Dawn’ Theme to your store. Then, go to the theme editor for this theme, and check off the payment icon checkbox. Then, preview the theme to see if the icons appear.
If the icons don’t appear, then perhaps the issue is between your payment processor and the theme. If the icons do appear, then we know the current version of Dawn you’re using has an issue with the coding in the footer preventing them from showing up. Please get back to me here once you’ve tried the test above.
In regards to getting your store to appear on Google, this will happen overtime as Google’s bots crawl your site and begin indexing your pages and store. If you wish to speed this process up, and help Google and other search engines rank your pages, you can check out our guide on submitting your sitemap here.
Thank you so much for your help. If i download the dawn theme again, do i
have to set up the store from scratch?
Hey again, @LuxeFam !
So if you download the theme again, you’re just downloading a new copy to the store, so you still have the old copy available to you that you’ve done all that work in. The point of downloading a copy of the dawn theme from the store is to preview it to see if you can get the payment icons to appear in it’s footer by checking off the check box in your theme editor. If the icons appear, then we know there’s some coding issue with your live version of your theme, and we can discuss some steps to resolve that.
Get back to me once you’ve tested the new copy! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your reply.
Hi, I have the same problem. Might you help me?
Hey there, @JDJSANVI . Thanks for jumping in on this thread from March. It’s good to meet you!
Have you had the chance to download a fresh version of the Dawn Theme to see if the payment icons appear in that version? If possible, can you complete that step for me? That way, we can determine if the issue is theme specific, or something else.
