Dawn Theme: Not understanding page creation and the default page

I have built a testimonial page which is linked to in the header of my website https://www.fleshandbloodcards.com

I want to make another page “Expansions” which contains a table of collection images which are clickable links to the collections.

I designed the page, looks great but when I link to it, the testimonials page ends up with the expansions content showing then the testimonials content. If I hide either section then testimonials and expansions both show the unhidden content only.

The expanskons page looks like this in the dashboard:

and the testimonials page looks the same:

But as you can see on the left, I have had to “turn off” the page (which is the actual testimonials stuff)

Here is the expansions page

Here is the testmonials page:

They are both suppsoed to contain different content but I can only show one or the other. I notice that they are both defined as the default page. That’s almost certainly the issue. How can I fix this please?

Sorry for having to ask so many questions, I’ve really mixed myself up today :s

I think the issue might be that if you have modified the code of the “default page” template, any pages with that same “default page” template will also show the code modifications. You should try making a new template and create a test page using that template to see if you still have problems.

You are dead right. I’d edited the default page instead of creating a new page based on the default and going from there. Thanks for the pointer. I was very tired last night but came back at it this morning and I’ve almost got it sorted.
