I would like to remove the white block that the text sits in on the header image so that just the text sits on the image. Please can you help me do this?
Topic summary
Removing the white text box overlay on a Dawn theme header/image banner.
- Initial issue: the header image shows text inside a white block; the goal is text directly on the image.
- Suggested fix: in the Image banner section settings, uncheck “Show text box on Desktop” to hide the background box.
- Outcome: this setting change worked and the issue is resolved.
Follow-up question (open):
- Changing the banner text colour. One reply notes this may require changing the theme’s accent colours, but that would affect titles site-wide; no clear method for adding separate colour options/schemes was provided.
Attachments: screenshots of the banner and the relevant setting were included.
@Sarah05 You could un-tick the “show text box on Desktop” on the image banner section item. This will then hide the background, and the text will sit in front of the background image rather than the coloured box. Might be worth trying this, before altering code.
Thank you! That worked
I tried that the other day and it didn’t seem to work, maybe it was a glitch. All sorted now, thanks for your help @Danny-KD ![]()
Do you know if it’s possible to change the text colour?
I’m struggling with colours on Dawn as well. You can change the colour for the image banner by changing the accent colours, but this will affect all titles across the site.
I’ve no idea how to add new colour options/schemes either..
Maybe someone else will.
