Resolution: The password protection method successfully solved the issue. The store owner confirmed they didn’t have access to “Plan and permissions” or “Store Status” options, but the password restriction worked as needed.
If you need to prevent any purchases immediately, the quickest way is to turn on password protection for your store. Go to Online Store > Preferences, scroll to Password protection, enable it, and set a password—this will block public access
For extra security, you can also disable checkout by going to Settings > Payments and deactivating your payment providers
