DEBUT theme product image shows image name before loading

Hi,

on the phone, not desktop, when first opening or refreshing the product page, it shows the image file name, is it possible to remove the file name?

I tried the default debut theme without any other code customization, it is still the same.

I’d be glad to help answer your questions today. I took a deeper look at your site, and I wasn’t able to replicate your experience so I’d like to rule out any local issues. For starters, can you please attempt the following:

  • Try using a private/incognito window of your current phone browser
  • Try updating your phone software to the latest version available
  • Try from a different network connection, preferably mobile data
  • If possible, also try from a different mobile device

If the issue seems to persist at that point please share the following details back with me for further testing:

  1. Your device
  2. Your device software version
  3. Your browser application details

Additionally, you mentioned you would like to remove the image’s name. If I’m not mistaken, it appears the text you are seeing is actually the ALT text used with images for SEO purposes.

To confirm:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products.

  2. Click the name of the product that you want to edit.

  3. From the product details page, click a product media item to see the Preview media page.

  4. Click Add ALT text.

  5. View your alt text, and then optionally update it and click Save ALT text.

Disclaimer:

Alt (alternative) text describes a media item and is an important part of a product description. If a media item can’t load for any reason, then alt text is shown instead. It’s also used by assistive technology to describe an image to a customer who’s visually impaired. Including alt text can boost your website’s SEO.

Hi Olivia,

yes, it is the image ALT text.

I was using incognito window on my phone.

It is the latest version.

I tried use my own phone data, and it is still the same.

I still see the issue. I use iphone 8 Plus, software version 14.4.2 and I use GOOGLE chrome. I still see the same issue even with Incognito of SAFARI.

This is not happening on desktop, only on my phone.
