Default currency not supported by gateway.

It’s a pickle. Please bare with me…

  1. The primary market is Turkey.
  2. The default currency is USD (has to be, the company is a distributor for a brand and the products have to be priced in USD due to economic instability and hourly fluctuating exchange rates)
  3. Due to government regulations for “Protection of the Turkish Lira,” no sales can be charged in other currency, given the fact that both seller and the buyer are from Turkey. Hence, for Turkish buyers, the payment form needs to be submitted to the payment gateway in Turkish Lira (TRY).
    • Shopify submits the payment in default currency only (USD), unless it is Shopify Payments, but Shopify Payments is not available in Turkey.
    • The payment gateways tell me that they do not do conversion on their end, the payment needs to be submitted in TRY.
  4. The currency converters only work on the front-end. They do not change the form submitted.

This is a riddle not solved by Spotify Support thus far. Any suggestions?

Thanks-a-million in advance…
