Delete collections containing only archived products

Hi all,

We have a lot of collections that have been created over the years and now appear empty because the only products in the collection are archived.

Can anyone suggest a way to identify and delete such collections? On Shopify a collection may show as containing 20 products, for example, but all of them are archived so it will appear as empty to the user (and is therefore not relevant and needs deleting). We have too many collections to do this manually, but can’t think of a way to do it.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @Sebastian_Young

  1. Go to your Shopify admin and click on Collections.
  2. In the Collections page, click on the Filter button.
  3. In the Filter dialog, select the Products filter and enter archived in the Status field.
  4. Click on the Apply button.
  5. This will filter the collections to only show collections that contain archived products.
  6. You can then identify the collections that you want to delete by looking at the Products column. If the Products column shows 0, then the collection contains no products, and you can delete it.
  7. To delete a collection, click on the Delete button next to the collection name.

Hi @magecomp , thanks for your reply! I don’t see these filter options in Collections, only Sales channel and Type.
