from conversations with our customers, it turns out that it is often not clear to them that they can pay using their cards using Paypal, even WITHOUT having a Paypal account (provided the “Paypal Account Optional” option is activated by the merchant).
I’ve contacted support to see if it is possible to change something on the Checkout page, but they said it is not possible for safety reasons.
I think it would be great if the Shopify can change the Checkout page in such a way that card symbols also appear next to the Paypal logo, perhaps together with a message that reads something like “Card Payment through Paypal, Paypal account optional” or something like that. I think this would improve conversion rates for most shop owners that mostly have to rely on Paypal for lack of other options in their countries.
Also, if anybody has found workarounds that allow you to comunicate this to customers on the Checkout Page, please let me know.
