We’ve had a few customers reach out saying their download links had expired before they managed to access their files. How are you handling this? Do you manually resend files, extend access, or have a better system in place? We’re using filemonk
Hey @HulkyZo
The fix is mostly in FileMonk’s settings rather than resending files by hand. Go to FileMonk, Settings, Download Page, Download Limits and increase the “No. of days available to download,” which extends the window for all future orders and any existing ones that haven’t expired yet. A 30 to 90 day window is a good balance, long enough nobody gets locked out for opening the email late, short enough to still deter link sharing.
For customers already locked out, open the order in FileMonk, hit More actions, Reset download limit to restart their window from today, then Send email to resend the link. You do that per affected order.
Hope that helps! If it did, a Like and Marking it as Solution goes a long way and helps others find the fix faster too.
Best,
Moeed
Hey @HulkyZo
This is a common issue with digital delivery apps. The app I work with, Big Digital Downloads (full transparency, I’m on the team), handles this in a way that gives you full control:
For each digital product you can configure both a time limit (how long the download link stays active) and a download count limit per order. So you decide whether customers get 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, unlimited, etc.
And if a customer reaches out saying their link expired, every order has a “Reset download limits” button so you can restore access for that specific customer with one click. No need to manually resend files or generate new links.
Might be worth a look if Filemonk isn’t giving you the flexibility you need on this.
hey @HulkyZo .
Doing great, I hope.
In FileMonk, you can go to the customers’ orders,
Find the download link, and manually resend or extend it,
No need to recreate the orders.
Also, check your Filemonk settings for the default
expiration time and download limits.
If it’s set tight, like 24 to 28 hours,
extending to 3 to 7 days,s with more allowed downloads
will cut down on these complaints significantly.
