So we give out discount codes to potential guests as promotional purpose to try convert them into our customers and while doing that, we have noticed some of our customers are making purchases with the double discount as in using the discount code we provided them on the item that is already on sale. We have tried looking for convenient ways to have the discount be inapplicable on already discounted item in our store but unable to find solution for it let along prevent customers from making the purchase with it.
If there is better method on how to prevent discount code being applied on already discounted item in the store, please let me know!
In the āApplies toā section, select either āSpecific productsā or āSpecific collectionsā rather than āEntire orderā or āAll products.ā This enables you to designate the products or collections for which the discount is valid. To exclude discounted items, make sure to only select non-discounted products when specifying the applicable products or collections.
Instead of creating a collection with only the non-discounted items, can we create a collection for just the sale items, and limit the discount code being used with the collection of sale items? There generally are fewer sale items to deal with than non-sale items. So, creating a collection of sale items may be easier.
Iām keen to understand that if a product was in the āsaleā collection, but also another ācollectionā for example āfaceā, of a beauty store.
If we then selected āfaceā collection as an applicable collection to use the discount on, surely this would override the fact the item is included in the āsaleā collection and sale is excluded from the discount? does this make sense?
