I’m after an app that can do the following: Seems to be a gap in the market as I can’t find one!
Choose 1 or more full price products (from a pool of 8)
Receive a 50% discount on all other products in your basket (except the pool of 8 and one other product)
Example
I sell 8 different vinyl LPs, along with t-shirts, hats, bracelets and digital songs.
Customers will purchase one or more full price vinyl LPs. Then ANY amount of t-shirts, hats, bracelets that they also order will be 50%. Any digital songs they order will be full price.
That’s a wild requirement for an app lol. I’m sure it would take a good minute to code. Buy 1 of only 8 things, and then any amount of anything else is 50% off, but not this item or any of the 8 items, just sounds like a crazy discount, and I’m not sure if your gap even exists.
Use the Enhanced Buy X Get Y discount to build it. Here’s exactly how to set it up for your case (buy from a pool of 8 products, then get 50% off on other products not including those 8):
Create the “Customer Buy Conditions” and add the 8 products you want to use as the qualifiers.
In “Customer Get Condition,” add the other product(s) or collection(s) that should receive the discount. (TIP: If You want to allow all The Products to Get Discount Other Than 8 You can Simply Do Specific Product(s) is Not One Of YOUR 8 PRODUCTS)
Because you want them to be able to add any quantity of the discounted items, enable “Range Quantity” and enter a high number (e.g., 100) to effectively allow unlimited discounted quantity.
Result: When a customer adds any item from your specified pool of 8 products, any other products you set in the “Get” condition will automatically get 50% off, for as many as they add (up to your range limit, e.g., 100).
So they could order 1 full price item and then receive a discount on more than one type of product they order from Customer Get Condition list? Ie one full price purchase will allow 50% discount on multiple quantities of more than two products?
Yes, that’s absolutely possible using the Enhanced Buy X Get Y discount feature in our app, Endless Discount Options.
You can configure it so that when a customer purchases one full-price item (Customer Buys rule), they receive a 50% discount on multiple products listed under the Customer Gets condition — even if those products are of different types and quantities.
Heya! I’m not sure if I am late or not, but we have an app that can do just that, and more! It’s called Smart Discounts . I also pretty much respond right away to support inquiries, so if you have any questions or anything you need help with, you can just reach out via chat and I could fix it up for you.
Because I don’t want to have to commit payment details until I know for certain this is going to work, is there a way to show me the screen shots to set this up so that customer receives a discount on all types & quantities of products added to their basket that aren’t one of the 8 +1 excluded?
I agree with your Point, You dont worry about that, feel free to test the app, Just follow My steps that I explained in previour answer. You Dont Have to Commit, I’l take care of that
You can do so with the advanced discount → you can create line groups with the items you want the discount to apply to, then under the product discount tab, you can target that specific product group. I’d be happy to help you set this up if you’d like
Hi @TSR123,
I’m sharing the screenshots of the discount setup where you can see that a range of up to 5 products has been set to receive a discount. You can adjust this limit as per your preference. In this example, all eligible products are given a 50% discount.
I’ve also included a cart screenshot showing that the product under the Customer Buys rule remains at full price, while all the other products even though they are of different types — correctly receive the 50% discount.
For your complex discount scenario, you’ll need a specialized app that can handle conditional rules where buying from one product group triggers discounts on another.
Hoppy Bundles can create advanced conditional discounts and tiered pricing for scenarios like yours. Full disclosure: I’m on the team behind Hoppy Bundles.
Test the app with your specific products to ensure the rules work as expected.
If you haven’t found a solution yet, AdsGun might be exactly what you need!
What you’re describing is essentially a “Buy X, Get Y” discount setup. With AdsGun, you can configure it so that when customers purchase one or more products from your pool of 8 vinyl LPs (set as the “Buy X” collection), they automatically receive 50% off on all other eligible products in their cart (set as the “Get Y” collections - your t-shirts, hats, bracelets).
You can exclude specific products or collections from the discount entirely. The best part is that customers will see these discounted prices displayed live on your product and collection pages as they shop, not just at checkout, which makes the promotion much more visible and can boost conversions.
You can find AdsGun in the Shopify App Store if you’d like to check it out. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about setting it up!
For your complex discount scenario where buying vinyl LPs triggers 50% off apparel, use Hoppy Bundles. It can create conditional rules for specific product groups and exclude certain items, like your digital products. Full disclosure: I’m on the team behind Hoppy Bundles.
Test the setup during the free trial to ensure it works with your exact product collections before launching.
Hi @TSR123,
Thanks for sharing your idea!
The promotion you’re envisioning where customers buy one or more full-price products and automatically receive 50% off other eligible items is a great way to boost sales and reward purchases. While this setup is a bit niche, the closest option in Discounty would be a Buy X Get Y campaign.
It works slightly differently: customers purchase the qualifying products (your vinyl LPs) and then receive specific reward products at a discount, rather than automatically applying discounts to everything else in their cart.
For your scenario, you can select which products like t-shirts, hats, or bracelets are eligible as rewards, and customers would add them via a popup to receive the discounted price. This approach gives you full control over which items are discounted while keeping the shopping experience smooth and seamless.
