Shopify store on the Dawn theme using a build-a-box app showed an unexpected discount at checkout. Screenshots depict line-through prices and an automatic “discount” before a shipping address is entered.
After entering an address, prices returned to their correct amounts. The app developer noted they don’t have checkout access, suggesting the issue wasn’t caused by the app.
Only two intended discounts were active: 10% off for new customers and free shipping over $100. No other discount codes or scripts were configured.
Resolution from Shopify Support: in Tax settings, uncheck “Include taxes” (taxes in prices). This setting had been causing the anomaly in how prices displayed prior to address entry, creating the appearance of a discount/strikethrough.
Outcome: Strikethroughs and price adjustments disappeared, and checkout totals remained consistent. No theme code or checkout scripting changes were required. Status: resolved.
I’m on Dawn Theme and have a build a box app but I’m running into a strange discount applied at checkout (developer said they do not have access to checkout and can’t see why this is happening)
Then when I input an address, prices change back to what they should be.
Help! How do I not have these strikethroughs and weird price adjustments? I only have 2 discounts saved - 1) 10% off for new customers and 2) Free Shipping over $100.
NVM - Support helped - I had to uncheck “include taxes” in Tax settings.
