Struggling with what I think is a very basic feature, request. I’m looking to setup a discount code, that will offer free shipping to customers, but only on certain collections.
I know I can put those collections in a shipping profile, but I don’t want this to be long term, it’s a short sale. If I did that, I’d then have to redo all the shipping profiles that those products used to be under, which is just a lot of work.
I don’t understand why I can’t say free shipping on these collections much like how you can do a discount on certain collections.
What are you expecting to happen to the shipping rate if the cart contains some items that are in the collection, but also, some items that aren’t in the collection?
If you are interested in a third party solution, our app ShipMagic’s starter plan can do this for you. You can set up a free shipping only if the item in cart is from the specified product collection.
You can install the app and reach out to the live chat support for any assistance on setting up the app.
will this app affect Boxify? I currently use Boxify for my shipping needs, and don’t want this to interfere with it. Unless this app can also do packages by length, width, height and weight.
Hi @trucranems
You can create free shipping codes based on certain collections with Advanced Free Shipping
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Hey there, @trucranems ! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community with your question around discounts! My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!
Thanks for providing the feedback around this discount limitation. We’ve received a fair amount of feedback about not being able to offer ‘free shipping’ discounts via a product or collection assignments. I’m happy to add your feedback here to the collection of feedback we’ve gathered prior. This will help us show our Developers what features our merchants value and need!
As for how to facilitate this sort of discount in your store, you’ll either have to do it via the shipping profile method, or by making us of a third party application like the one that the previous poster suggested!
