<span;>So i’ve had great support from shopify so far but i’ve hit a wall with a particular issue that I wanted to make people aware of.
<span;>Google pay does not show a field to enter a discount code. This is possibly true for ApplePay too.
<span;>I was seeing a high volume of dropouts at checkout and I investigated possible reasons and found this issue.
<span;>I have been told the discount field can’t be moved from the shoppay channel so offering customers discount codes is not applicable to all payment channels!
<span;>This would seem to customers that I am offering discounts that cannot be used which is completely unacceptable. I believe I have lost customers forever due to this.
<span;>Not only are orders not being completed to purchase, customers are thinking my store is a bit of a scam, this is also costing me money in ad fees too!
<span;>The suggestion support gave me was to pay £12 ($15) a month for an app to apply a discount at the checkout.
<span;>The native shopify discount codes will not work on all your payment channels!
<span;>The only option I have is to remove GooglePay and ApplePay as options and just have ShopPay as the payment channel as this does have the discount code field.
<span;>I would urge you all to investigate your own stores and review the volume of google pay dropouts you are getting at checkout. Try to apply a code yourself if you have the facility to and see if you are also affected.
<span;>Please log tickets about this if you are affected as this is totally unacceptable.
