Hi everyone,
I’m running into an issue with Discounts Allocator Functions and would appreciate some clarification.
I created a Shopify Plus development store from my Partner Dashboard. The store shows Plus in the plan, but in Settings → Developer preview, I don’t see any option to enable or use Discounts Allocator Functions. When I try to register the allocator from my app, Shopify returns an error saying the shop is not eligible.
My understanding was that Plus stores should support discount allocators, so I’m trying to confirm:
-
Are Discounts Allocator Functions intentionally disabled on Partner-created Plus development stores?
-
Do they only work on real Plus merchant stores or sandbox/expansion stores within a Plus organization?
-
Is there any way to test allocator functions without access to a live Plus merchant store?
For context, I’m building a custom app to exclude certain tagged products (e.g. Shipping Protection) from order-level discounts, which requires a discount allocator.
Any confirmation or guidance from Shopify or others who’ve tested this would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!
