I have created color variant metafield and the key is named’ color.values’. I would like to know how to display the color in swatch instead of words in product page.
Topic summary
A color variant metafield (‘color.values’) is set up, but the product page shows color names as text instead of visual swatches in the Dawn theme. The goal is to render color swatches on the storefront.
Advice suggests using a metafield of type “Color,” which should display swatches rather than text. An attached image illustrates selecting the Color metafield type in Shopify admin; this visual aid is central to the guidance.
The original poster confirms they already set the metafield to the Color type, yet the storefront still renders words only.
Another participant requests the store URL (and password, if applicable) to inspect the setup and propose a solution.
Key terms: “metafield” = custom data field in Shopify; “color swatch” = visual color chip representing a color choice; “Dawn” = Shopify’s default theme.
No resolution yet. Next step is sharing store access for troubleshooting, likely involving theme settings, template code, or how the metafield is referenced on the product page.
Hi @MattLo ,
If you use the metafield color, it will display color.
no, i mean the color is displayed in word at storefront instead of as color swatch. thanks
Hi @MattLo ,
I think I perfectly understand your query. What I mean by metafield color is the metafield type color. Please see image below
