Display Discounted Prices Throughout Your Shopify Store - Setup Guide

I’m Stefan, co-founder of Adsgun. We built our app to automatically display discounted prices throughout your entire store - collection pages, product pages, cart, and checkout - without customers needing to enter discount codes.

This guide explains the discount display problem and how to set up automatic price displays properly.

The Problem

Most Shopify discount setups require customers to:

• Enter a discount code at checkout
• Only then see the discounted price
• No visible savings on product or collection pages
• Customers don’t know a discount exists until they actively apply a code

This means:

• Lost sales from customers who don’t know about available discounts
• Friction in the buying process (remembering and entering codes)
• Lower conversion rates compared to showing discounts upfront

The Solution

Display discounted prices automatically across your entire store using actual Shopify discount objects integrated with your theme.

Adsgun shows the discounted price immediately on collection pages, product pages, cart, and checkout - with strikethrough pricing showing the savings. No code entry required.

Step 1: Enable Discount Display in Your Theme

1. Install Adsgun from Shopify App Store
2. Open in your Shopify Admin
3. Start the Quick Start Guide
4. Select your active theme
5. Enable the App Extension

This allows Adsgun to render and display discounted prices dynamically throughout your theme.

Step 2: Create Your Promotions

Two types available:

Private Promotions: Only active when accessed via special link. Perfect for:

• Email campaigns (click email link, see discounted prices)
• Influencer tracking (unique link per influencer)
• Paid ads (each ad can have different pricing)

Public Promotions: Automatically visible to all visitors, or triggered by URL parameters like campaign IDs.

You can use either:

• Shopify Discounts (ones already created in your admin), or
• Adsgun Discounts with stackable rules:
  • Product discounts
  • Order minimums
  • Buy X Get Y
  • Shipping discounts

Example: “Buy 2 T-shirts and get 20% off + Free Shipping + 10% off Accessories” - all displayed automatically without code entry.

Step 3: Configure Theme Display (Schema JSON)

This step tells Adsgun where to display discounted prices in your theme’s HTML.

Not a developer? Adsgun support can configure this JSON for you via live chat, usually within 10 minutes. Once configured, you never need to repeat it.

Optional Features

Apply Discount Codes via URL:
You can still use traditional discount codes and auto-apply them via URL parameters:

?adsguncode=DISCOUNT1,DISCOUNT2

Useful for email CTAs, Google Ads, Meta Ads, or influencer links.

Campaign-Based Promotions:
Trigger different promotions based on URL paths or parameters. Each campaign can display different pricing automatically.

Example: Visitor from Google Ad A sees one set of discounted prices, visitor from Facebook Ad B sees different discounted prices.

Summary

Once configured, Adsgun automatically displays discounted prices across your entire store - collection pages, product pages, cart, and checkout. Customers see the savings immediately without entering any codes.

The result: Higher conversions from transparent pricing and reduced friction in the buying process.
