Displaying selective stores on PDP for store pickup

Hey folks!
I came across a Shopify merchant who offers local pickup and displays the list of stores on the product detail page for the customer to select the store he wants to pick his product from. But displaying the stores with “out of stock” message in that list doesn’t make sense. This dooms the customer experience in one way. What could be the solution for this?
