I am having trouble finding how chargebacks and disputes are reported on the finance summary report or how that works. I map my clients using A2X to QBO, and we map the dispute items to a liability on the balance sheet. If a client has a lot of disputes/chargebacks, this liability account is growing on her books. My question is , how does it ever clear out ( much like how pending sales clear out, etc). The balance is growing, and I am not sure the process shopify uses in reporting this. For example, if they had a chargeback and it was resolved in the favor of the customer, would that show up in the mapping in disputes and clear out that item on the BS? Or do we need to have this disputes/chargeback acct as an income account on the P&L instead ( much like refunds acct) and it has a negative balance offsetting other income showing they lost the dispute? Just not totally sure how it is reflected in the finance summary report since there isn’t a line item for that on it and how we should be tracking these on the accounting side each month when it comes to the sales number.
