DNS TXT Record Not updated In Shopify

Good day

  • I edited my DNS settings 2 days back. I edited my TXT records according to the instructions in Zoho but when I try verifying in Zoho it says the TXT records can’t be found. Can you suggest what is the solution to this problem. As I have tried to wait to 48 hours yet the TXT records are not found on ZOHO. And my domain is entered correctly on zoho its the Verification that’s problematic because of the TXT in shopify.

TXT records from shopify should affect zoho, its just a way to verify that you have control.

I would say the TXT is wrong or the url is wrong on the record you create, says 24hrs but should propigate earlier than that.

Hi @HR6

I would be happy to help you with this. Could you please confirm what domain host your website is hosted on, are you using zoho to also host your domain? And what is the website URL so I can check the DNS settings that are propagating.

I use Zoho as well so I might be able to help you troubleshoot this. I know Zoho’s DNS stuff was a bit tricky to get setup initially.

I used Shopify to create my Domain. The website url is harborradiant.com , I’m creating my professional email using Zoho that’s why I’m editing my DNS settings.

Thank you for the link! From my end it does look like all your TXT records are accurate and propagating properly. You can confirm this in a variety of third party DNS checkers like MXToolBox. This means that if Zoho is not recognizing the TXT record, then it is either incorrect or there is a delay in their system.

The TXT Record I am seeing is:

There are additional records that need to be set though if you are using Zoho with Shopify. Please ensure that you are following their guide for this and that you have also added the correct CNAME and MX records as well: Shopify DNS - CNAME, MX for Zoho Mail.

If you believe that you have added those correctly also and are able to see them propagating in third party DNS checker tools, you will want to contact Zoho directly for additional support.

  1. I sent an email to Zoho and they said I should contact shopify because apparently the domain I bought from you is not mine because it is still up for sale “https://www.whois.com/whois/haborradiant.com” this link proves that the domain is not under my ownership that’s why it’s failing to verify TXT records in Zoho. Please check this link and tell me why is the domain still for sale “No ownership” yet I bought it from shopify.

Thank you for that update! In this case you will need to contact our authenticated support for additional help with this. I do not have the ability to check your merchant account or review billing charges or domain purchases through the community forums.

Do you see a successful billing charge for this domain purchase in your store admin under Settings > Billing? If no, please try to purchase the domain once more. Sometimes it can look like the payment went through but the verification of it is rejected and the domain purchase becomes cancelled.
