DO I *actually* need to sign and date every single international shipping label for Canada Post?

When sending internationally via Canada post, there is a section on the shipping label to date and sign the customs declaration.

I do a lot of international shipments, and this is a major paint point that slows things down considerably.

My question is - is this actually required? If I don’t need to actually wet sign these things and date them it would save a ton of time and logistics.

On the other hand, if it is required, why can’t Shopify automatically fill in the date? I mean, that’s what computers are for. Also we should be able to upload a scanned signature and have it put on the label automatically.

Hi @mactac ,

Based on the information available to us, manually signing and dating each International Shipping Label may not be necessary if you have a Canada Post manifest. The Canada Post manifest serves as a compilation of all your shipments and is a mandatory document for handing over to Canada Post pickup agents. To ensure this information is accurate, kindly verify it with the Canada Post team.

To simplify the process, there are apps like the PH MultiCarrier Shipping Label app that enable you to print both shipping labels and manifests conveniently.

With all due respect, this does not sound like an answer, and more like an opportunity to push your app.

First, a manifest is most certainly not a required document.

The answer you provide is “you may not have to sign it. Call Canada Post.” I"m not sure how that’s helpful.

Taking every opportunity to spam your app by providing non-answers that seem like answers really degrades the usefulness of this forum. Please stop.
