Do old copies of themes slow down my site?

I’m fairly new to Shopify but noticed that recently my store has gone from a speed score of 50 to 30, which seems like a significant drop when I don’t know what we might have done for that to happen. I’ve been through all the images and made sure they’re small in size, well-named, have alt descriptions. We’re working on SEO for each page - I know that is a weak spot for us. I have got redirects for any old page names…

But one thing I notice is that I have quite a few older versions of our theme. Those won’t be causing any slow downs would they? I wouldn’t think so but thought I’d ask the community.

In addition to the steps you’ve already taken, we suggest reviewing your theme’s code and removing any unused or unnecessary code snippets. You can also consider optimizing your store’s HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files by minimizing them, and compressing them to reduce their file size.
