This is a YouTube channel I have watched a few times and don’t have an overall problem with, but this video is about a visit to Pitcairn Island and makes no mention of the disturbing recent history. In 2004 it was discovered that most of the men on the island were raping the children there, and many of the women there including Olive Christian who they stay with in this video and features in it claim that these rapes were not a crime. Her husband was the Mayor of the island who was involved in the rapes including his own children.
Had the video not have featured her as much and mentioned this horrible fact I may not have a problem with it, even if it had been mentioned off the island. However no mention is made on the video. You can see in the comments many people are aware of this. You can also refer to this Wikipedia article : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Pitcairn_Islands_sexual_assault_trial
Do Shopify feel it was acceptable to make this video featuring Olive Christian with no mention of such significant crimes she and her husband were involved in? Are Shopify happy to be associated with this video?
The direct reference to your company is made at 12:45 in the video, this link will take you there : https://youtu.be/d2Dw-PuNZSE?t=765
This wouldn’t stop me using Shopify as I know it was probably not an error on your part. I was just interested to know if you are aware of it and if Shopify hold a view on this.
