Do you add music to your videos or keep them simple?

Topic summary

The discussion explores whether to include music in marketing videos and how to source it effectively.

Current Practices:

  • Most participants add music to product sample videos, though client preferences vary
  • Tutorial videos typically include music, while solution/explainer videos often avoid it to prevent distraction from narration
  • Some creators keep videos simple without music to maintain content focus

Music Sourcing & Creation:

  • External platforms like Uppbeat.io are commonly used for sourcing tracks
  • Mobile tools like GarageBand enable custom music creation
  • Platform-provided jingles are generally avoided in favor of custom or sourced music
  • Tailored beats are preferred over AI-generated options despite requiring more time

Key Considerations:

  • Audience awareness and brand consistency are essential when selecting trendy music
  • Custom music better matches video content than automated solutions
  • Technology enables embedding dynamic content (video, audio, social posts) directly into stores via simple links

Consensus: While AI tools assist production, original creative thinking remains irreplaceable in effective video marketing.

Do you add music to your videos or keep them simple?

Hello :waving_hand:

Yes I normally add music to my videos for sample products but it’s depends on what my client not wants

Oh, man. We gotta go viral! Haha. Piggybacking on trendy music is the basic, but not everything, tho. You have to know your audience and not detour too far from your brand guidelines.

For tutorial videos, we often add music. But for issue solution video, we prefer the video with progress explaining first and will not add extra music to avoid contradiction.

I guess this chat begs for more questions:

Where do you source the right music/beats/jingles?

What’s the workflow or tools with your music production if you create your own?

Do you rely on the canned jingles built in on the social platforms, which hooks up the viewers right away?

Or do you create a more tailored beat/piece, say using tools or ai?

Wow, plentiful question here~

  1. Where do you source the right music/beats/jingles?
I usually source from this website
    https://uppbeat.io/

  2. What’s the workflow or tools with your music production if you create your own?
For me, I prefer GarageBand on my iPhone, it is sufficient.

  3. Do you rely on the canned jingles built in on the social platforms, which hooks up the viewers right away?
I don’t reply on the jingles very much on social platforms, I usually choose to create my own or insert the suitable one after sourcing.

  4. Or do you create a more tailored beat/piece, say using tools or ai?
Yep, a more tailored beat is my best choice, though it takes time, it matches the video better than ai generated ones.

I usually keep my videos simple without music so the focus stays on the content. When I do want to add something extra, I like using tools that let me embed dynamic content straight into my store—whether it’s a video, audio clip, or even a social post—just by pasting a link. It keeps things clean but still engaging. apps.shopify.com/embed

Amazing! Technology on the fly can accomplish so much tailored jobs; the content creators are really taking the hand held devices and mobile apps to another level. And for a purpose and vision!

It is! And no matter how technology develops nowadays, brilliant thoughts and ideas matter most. This is the key reason why we won’t be replaced or surpassed by AI tools.
