My question is, when you set up your shipping via Shopify do you still have to pay once you drop off your product? If no please explain how it works.

When you buy discounted shipping labels in your admin through Shopify Shipping, these labels are charged to your Shopify account so you won’t need to pay for your labels at the courier.
The way shipping labels are charged depends on how much you spend on them. If you spend a certain amount on shipping labels within your billing cycle and reach your billing threshold, you are invoiced and charged immediately. This needs to be settled before you can continue purchasing more labels. If you spend less than the threshold, these shipping labels will be charged through your monthly Shopify bill. To know how much your billing threshold is, you can go to the Bills section of the Billing page in your admin. You can access the Billing page by going to Settings > Billing or Finances > Billing if your store has this section.
Depending on the courier you use, you may be able to have your orders picked up instead of dropping them off at the courier. Feel free to check out this page to see which companies allow you to schedule pickups so you can save time and travel expenses.
