Does AEO crawl your website and evaluate it in the same or similar way as SEO? If so, do they prioritize the beginning words of the webpage? What should we code for?
This is David from SearchPie here.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) evaluates content fundamentally differently than traditional search engines, rewarding clarity and consistency over company size. Instead of prioritizing the beginning words of a webpage or relying on keyword repetition, AEO assigns recommendation weight based on concept alignment, semantic density, entity relationships, and conversational relevance. AI engines extract data to provide specific answers rather than reading marketing fluff.
When coding your website for AEO, you should prioritize highly structured data. Ensure your JSON-LD Product schema is complete with specific attributes, and use Organization schema to define your business and establish topical authority
Our app SearchPie should do the trick just fine! You are just a few clicks away from generating structured data!
Hope this helps!
I think one thing a lot of people are underestimating is how badly many product pages read once you stop looking at them like a search engine and start looking at them like an AI system trying to confidently answer a buyer question.
A surprising number of Shopify stores technically have ‘good SEO’, but the actual product context is fragmented, vague or inconsistent.
Feels like AI discovery is rewarding clarity much more heavily.
Thanks so much David! I have my website on Etsy so I do not have access to the JSON-LD Product schema. Etsy is very limited on what you can control and I do not know how to use Organization schema with it. Are you familiar with Etsy and would your product work there?
