Title: Anyone else having major issues with Shopify’s customer service and data tracking?
Hey everyone,
I’m beyond frustrated with Shopify right now. For the past five days, the analytics on my Shopify-hosted e-commerce store have completely stopped working—no session data, no customer visit info, nothing. This is a huge deal for me since it’s probably the most important data I need to keep my business running.
I’ve contacted customer service multiple times, and while they seem eager to help, it’s honestly just been a bunch of empty words. Every agent expresses sympathy but gives me no real information. No confirmation that it’s been escalated to the tech team, no timeline for a fix, nothing. It feels like I’m talking to bots or AI because every response sounds the same.
To make it worse, they told me to go use Google Analytics to track my store data. Like, seriously? I’m paying Shopify for these services, and they’re telling me to go to another company for the info that they should be providing? It’s beyond ridiculous.
Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m at my wit’s end, and it’s unacceptable for a company this big to be so terrible at customer service. If anyone has had success getting through to their tech team, I’d love to hear how. Also, do you guys think they owe us more than just a fix at this point? I feel like an apology is the least they could do.
Would love any thoughts or advice on how to deal with this!
I’ve given up and haven’t even launched our store yet. Can’t get our ein verified. Customer support just sounds like bots. They were actually asking me how to navigate to the page that shows the balance account. I have another web page at Blue Host and you can call and get a tec person 24/7 who will fix anything. I made a mistake trying out Shopify and will now have to start all over building another store using WordPress. I can’t believe Shopify has gone this far down hill. It’s been a week now since they escalated it to their verification team. No contact no help nothing. It’s BS.

It’s tough when you rely on a platform for vital data and get no real support in return. You’re definitely not alone – many users have had similar issues with Shopify’s customer service. Keep pushing for more than just a fix, as it’s reasonable to expect better communication and accountability
I really appreciate your response and kind words . To be honest I’m disgusted with Shopify being happy to collect fees and commision but equally happy to reduce their customer service to a few well intended for the most part, but untrained , lacking knowledge customer service agents . For the most part their answers sound AI or chatgbt preprepared scripts that are just meant to calm you down and make you go away without offering you any actual help . I would like to move my site elsewhere just not sure where yet . I filed formal complaints to BBB about Shopify not that this would rattle them I don’t think .
If you can go elsewhere please do that . For me it will be a major thing to move everything I have built but they have deteriorated so so much that I think Shopify is the closest thing to a legal scam
