I came across an advertisement for checkify.pro by chance. This app claims it can help me customize my checkout page. What surprises me more is that it says it can save me 1% on the fees charged by third - party payment gateways on Shopify. Is this true? I mean, if it’s legal, won’t this infringe on Shopify’s interests? Obviously, Shopify will receive less in fees as a result.
Hi @NEO2025
Yes, Checkify is a legitimate Shopify app. It’s designed to help store owners customize their checkout pages, which can improve customer experience and potentially boost conversion rates. However, regarding the claim that it can save 1% on third-party payment gateway fees, there are some important considerations to clarify.
Shopify’s Policy on Payment Gateways
Shopify charges an additional transaction fee (ranging from 0.5% to 2%, depending on your plan) for using third-party payment gateways instead of Shopify Payments. If an app claims to reduce or bypass these fees, it’s worth being cautious. Shopify has strict rules in place, and apps that violate these policies could be removed or lead to issues with your store.
How Checkify Works
From what I’ve seen, Checkify focuses on providing tools for checkout customization. It doesn’t bypass Shopify’s fee structure directly but may improve checkout efficiency, which could lead to indirect savings. Any claims about saving on Shopify’s fees should be carefully reviewed, as such claims might be misleading or violate Shopify’s terms.
Potential Legal and Operational Risks
If an app manipulates payment processes to reduce Shopify fees, it could potentially conflict with Shopify’s terms of service. This could result in penalties, including Shopify restricting or suspending your store. Always ensure the app complies with Shopify’s policies before integrating it into your store.
My Recommendation
If you’re seriously considering Checkify, I’d recommend:
- Check the App Reviews: Look at the app’s reviews on the Shopify App Store. Feedback from other merchants can provide valuable insights.
- Reach Out to Support: Contact Checkify’s support team to clarify how their fee-saving feature works.
- Consult Shopify Support: If you’re unsure about compliance, ask Shopify directly to avoid any policy violations.

Im having issues, checkify works fine and all. But sinds i use checkify it doesn’t register checkouts initiated anymore, it does show how many orders, but the conversion rate is always 0%. Please help
I’d be very cautious installing an app from outside of Shopify’s official app store. Especially anything checkout-related.
There are 2 apps in app store with the same’ish name, but they do not seem to be related.
