Does checking the 'Charge sales tax' box affect my no-tax policy on products?

Hello! When creating a new product- one of the completion areas is a check box that says -“Charge sales tax for this product”- If you offer NO TAX on all your products - Question - Is it required to check this box on all product. My state requires a sales tax to be collected, but I have chosen to pay this tax out of my profit -at least- for a while. In the ‘taxes & tarriffs’ section of my settings. I have no tax for all of the USA & Canada. Please assist me as Google is causing me trouble with this tax thingy. I don’t comprehend how Shopify effects Google.

I don’t know the laws and regulations in the US regarding tax, but I thought if you pay tax on products, that you have to show this in the checkout.

And then in Google Merchant Center > gear icon > sales tax (you show the tax you have to charge)

However, if you are allowed to not show tax, then don’t show or add tax.

I still do not quite comprehend. Maybe I did not explain enough. Google
has suspended my business account because I put a “check mark” in the box
on my product page in Shopify that says “Charge tax on this product”.
Altho -My product is TAX FEE. BUT, the state I live in is a taxable
state. The charged tax shows as a credit on each invoice from my state.
Question:?? Is it necessary to check the box on your product page that
says. “Charge tax on this product” IF your product is tax free. ??? I
hope this makes my question more clear.

The tax question, you need to first ask your accountant what you need to do. I can not answer what you need to do with taxes. Because you said you absorb the taxes, but that still means you are charging tax. And I don’t think it is legal to hide the tax in the prices.

For example for my business, I am legally required to show taxes on all paperwork the client receives.
