My e-commerce online store is hosted by GoDaddy. I want to switch to Shopify. I do not want to “migrate” as I do not see the point at transferring content and data that I need to modify or change so I want to re-create my website from scratch using the same domain name. I would add and delete product categories, rewrite product descriptions, remove most duplicate content, delete and add pictures.
How should I go about making these changes without affecting negatively my google rating? Would it be better to make these changes on my GoDaddy platform first and let Google “digest” the changes and then copy and paste the updated data and structure to Shopify or should I go ahead and makes all these changes right away as I am building the Shopify site? Thank you.
That’s still what migrating is ,especially if trying to retain whatever SEO rankings the site has.

If your current site is a lost cause then just start from scratch, this is an opinion on the internet all risk is yours doing this.
There’s no best path , it depends on individual needs , ultimately your description is to vague and waaaay too broad to give any concrete answer for SEO with a lot of moving parts.
If your current site is successful do not go it alone invest in a SEO specialist so you do not damage your business.
