Do I need to setup a third party email service ? Or does Shopify come with email for our customers to contact us.
Just simply add your email in shopify setting in bottom left corner → store details → content information → add your email

Shopify does not offer email hosting but we do offer email forwarding with a mask email, if your domain is hosted with Shopify directly.
If you purchased your domain from Shopify you can setup a vanity email address like info@mystore.com or support@thisname.com and the it will automatically forward emails sent to that email address to your personal email. Any replies to emails sent to that email address will have to be sent from your personal account.
If you would like email hosting I highly recommend Zoho, which has free custom email hosting. I use it myself and it works really well: Email Hosting | Secure Business Email for your organization - Zoho Mail.
