I came across this thread https://community.shopify.com/post/1548622 where it was asked about Shopify’s retention policy.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the ‘purging’ would trigger an updated webhook on the customer? So if there is an app that stores customer data, could that app react to the ‘customer-updated’ webhook where the customer data is being purged, and also purge the customers data? I know there are webhooks that exist specifically to respond to requests to be forgotten, but I’m looking more for information around Shopify’s 2 year retention behaviour.
Also, one last clarification on the ‘purge’. Does this behave similarly to the “Erase personal data” function in Shopify Admin when viewing a customer? This function removes things like names/addresses and puts “Anonymous” instead. Would this “purge” after 2 years do the same?
