Hey, I’ve actually finished creating my website, it’s missing policies and cookies, but I don’t really know what I need to do. I sell from Germany and would like to sell all over the world. I have now seen that Shopify can create a cookie banner itself. I simply changed the settings to “All countries” and a cookie banner is displayed on the website with a link to “Privacy Policy”, but this section is still empty because I haven’t stored anything there yet. On YouTube I can only find tutorials for e.g. Cookiebot, but the Shopify cookie banner is not used at all. Are my settings in Shopify sufficient for my cookie banner for Germany if I update my policies later? And is this somehow a new feature? Because I can’t find anything else about it on the internet.
@EARL2 if you only use 1P-Cookies from Shopify, the Shopify Consent Tool is enough.
As soon as you add GTM, Meta Pixel or any other 3rd party tool that sets Cookies, you’ll have to switch to a 3rd-Party Tool to assign the cookies to a category (Marketing, Analytics, Essential).
