Doesn't have "Pause and cancel Subscription" button

Hi,

I would like to pause my shopify subscription with a USD9 per month option but when i followed the youtube tutorial, my setting page “Plan” does not have “Pause or cancel subscription” but only “Cancel subscription” button for selection.

I have been working on my shopify, and paid for 2 months of Basic Shopify plan - I should have fulfilled the criteria.

I do not want to close my store but to remain visible for my customers but no more “checkout” function, what’s the solution?

Thank you!

You should see the button if you’ve been on the paid plan and at least 60 days past the free trial period.

Alternatively, you can reach to Shopify support, they’ll look into the account.

That’s what i understand too. But i already paid 2 months of bills - which is 60 days, and I still cannot see the button change of “Pause or cancel Subscription”, instead it is “Cancel subscription”.

I wonder what the problem is.

Hi, @Lostywing !

As Nick mentioned there is a threshold of time that needs to be met before you’re able to see the pause option.

To help clarify why you’re not seeing it I have a link here to the specific section in Terms of Service for Shopify that explains how billing is timed and charged. I see that you mention paying 2 bills. That’s great, however, paying the bill doesn’t necessarily mean that the 60 days of having the store on a plan has been met. Each bill for the subscription fee is paid before the 30 day period. So if you’ve paid 2 bills that means you’ve at least made it 30 days, but not 60.

All bills are paid in advance of the next 30 days.

Once you reach the end of this billing cycle you’ve just paid for, you’ll have the pause option available to you.

Since you’re pausing the business for a while, were you stepping away for a short time, or were you hoping to gain some increased traffic before opening the checkout?

Sometimes during a paused period, you can take advantage of building “hype” for your product releases. This could be a good idea if you plan on pausing for a short time. Since it’s near the Holiday season, your visitors and existing customers are in a spending mindset, which can help you sell out on a product release as soon as you open that checkout back up.

Let me know how you do with the information above! I’m happy to answer any questions you think of as you work on your business.
