I own the domain and the store, but it won’t let me transfer the domain from Wordpress to Shopify, saying the domain has been claimed by another shop.

In this situation you will want to reach out to our live support team with your domain proof of purchase. Once they have verified that you are the current owner of the domain URL they will be able to assist you in transferring the domain from the previous shop that was using it.
