Double-check if the domain you’re trying to buy is still available. Sometimes, it might appear available but could have been recently registered by someone else. Also, ensure that your payment method is up-to-date and accepted by Shopify. You can try another payment method if the current one isn’t working.
The domain must follow the correct format: no special characters except for hyphens, no spaces, etc
If none of these seem to be the issue, it could be an internal error on Shopify’s side. In that case, I’d recommend reaching out to support or waiting a bit and trying again later.
It is best not to buy a domain name from Shopify. You can buy it from other domain name registrars. If you need to change a platform in the future, you can easily rebind the domain name to the new platform.
