Don't see drop-down in theme customization

Topic summary

A user encountered two issues while customizing their Shopify product pages in Safari:

Problems identified:

  • The navigation drop-down menu at the top of the theme customizer disappeared, preventing access to different product pages
  • Desktop view displayed incorrectly, showing the mobile hamburger menu instead of the full desktop menu

Resolution:
Switching from Safari to Chrome browser resolved both issues. The drop-down menu and proper desktop view returned to normal.

Status: Resolved as a Safari-specific browser compatibility issue. The user notes this is a new problem, as Safari previously worked correctly for theme customization.

Whenever I customize a product page, I always click Online Store >> Themes >> Customize. At the top of the page, there is usually a drop-down where I can select what I want to edit.

Today I noticed that drop-down was not there, so I don’t know how to navigate to my different product pages.

Does anyone know where I can find this now or why it’s missing for me?

Also, I noticed that even though I have “desktop” selected on the customization selected, it is showing me the mobile view, not the desktop view. The desktop view has the menu options at the top, whereas the mobile view has the hamburger menu.

Hi @Dalma3

You can try to log in to your admin account using the Incognito browser to check if it works.

I figured out my issue. It is a browser issue. I am using Safari when this is an issue. However, when I switch to Chrome it is normal.

I used to only use Safari up to now, so I’m not sure why it doesn’t work properly with Safari anymore.
