What I found out (after much back and forth with the support teams) was that the Google Channel on Shopify looks directly at the email specified in the sub-account without referring to the permissions that Google Merchant Centre grants to admin users of the parent account. The solution for me was to add a different email address as the user of the sub-account (since Google Merchant Centre won’t let you add the same email that you have as the admin of the parent account- it gives a message “account already has access…”). I was then able to change the email that I entered in the Google Channel app on Shopify to match that different sub-account user email and it then showed as an option to connect to. I hope this helps. After raising it with support, I was informed that they are working on a fix to this issue.
