Dropshipping a specific collection only?

Topic summary

Goal: Enable dropshipping for a specific product collection so orders placed on the store are fulfilled by a supplier (in Japan) and shipped directly to customers, avoiding UK warehousing and reducing costs.

Proposed solution: Use the Shopify app Syncerize.

  • Supplier installs Syncerize as a “source” store, adds their products and inventory.
  • Merchant installs Syncerize as a “destination” store, connects via the supplier’s unique key, and imports those products.
  • When a synced product is ordered, it auto-forwards to the supplier for fulfillment; inventory updates automatically.

Key clarification: The supplier needs a Shopify store to act as the source. The merchant could help set one up if the supplier doesn’t have one.

Status and next steps: A demo was requested; the app provider confirmed availability and sent contact details via direct message.

Open point: Billing terms (“fulfil and bill us later”) weren’t detailed; only order forwarding and inventory sync were specified.

How to set dropshipping for a specific collection?

We’ve been working with a supplier who has now agreed to drop ship orders for us rather than us import them, hold them in storage and ship them ourselves when they’re sold.

All our stock is held in our warehouse and shipped direct by us from there but is there a way to flag a particular collection of products and make them drop ship only and send the order info across to the supplier who would then fulfil and bill us for them later if we take payment through our site?

For these products it would significantly reduce cost as we wouldn’t have to ship them from Japan to UK and then back out to customers because they can just go direct from Japan to customers.

Hi,

You can use our app for this,

ask your supplier to install https://apps.shopify.com/syncerize and choose source, they will enter the products and inventory on their store and make it available for you to sync.

Install Syncerize on your store as a destination store, connect with the supplier using their unique key and import the products from their store.

Once an order of the synced product is placed on your store, it will automatically be forwarded to your supplier for fulfilment and inventory is updated accordingly.

Let me know if you need any help in setting it up

Thank you! This does look very promising, I’m not sure if our supplier has a Shopify store at the moment so I assume I would need them to set one up (or we could even do this and populate it with their products for them)?

Would it be possible to arrange a demo of the app sometime?

hi, yes it is possible, I sent you a DM with the contact details
