Dropshipping Tracking number - View order

Topic summary

A dropshipper is concerned that order tracking links redirect customers to AliExpress, revealing the supplier source. When customers click “Track your order” in confirmation emails, they’re taken directly to AliExpress tracking pages.

Proposed Solutions:

  • Third-party tracking apps: Use services like Trackr, TrackingMore, or ParcelPanel Order Tracking to generate custom tracking numbers and mask supplier information
  • Branded tracking pages: ParcelPanel specifically allows creating a branded tracking page within the store, with settings to auto-redirect Shopify’s native tracking away from carrier sites
  • Dropshipping masking: Toggle features exist to hide dropshipping-related information from customers

Current Status:

The original poster is exploring these options but needs guidance on where to modify the email settings that currently send customers to AliExpress. Screenshots show the default Shopify tracking email and app configuration interfaces for masking supplier details.

The discussion remains open as implementation details are being worked out.

Hi everyone,

I am starting a dropshipping website.

I made some tests, and when people buy my product I receive it on Dsers, and do all the process until the client receive an email saying that the order was accepted.

However when the client clicks on the button to track the order, it takes the person to Ali Express, however I would not like people to go there and know the product is from Aliexpress.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Thank you

Hey, I totally get your concern. You want to keep your supplier private, which is a common practice in dropshipping.

The issue you’re facing is due to the default tracking settings in Dsers. To fix this, you can use a tracking number generator or a third-party tracking app that hides the supplier’s information.

One popular solution is to use a tracking app like Trackr or TrackingMore. These apps allow you to generate custom tracking numbers and mask the supplier’s information.

By using one of these solutions, you can keep your supplier private and maintain a professional brand image.

HI Lawrence2,

Thank you for your reply.

I know coding, however I am not sure what I should do to complete that task.

I would need to investigate, thank you for the tip.

Hi Adeyemiwebdev,

Thank you for your answer.

I will try to check this options however, where do I set up this_ where do I remove the email that was sent to the client with the button " Click to track your order" and that leads to the aliexpress?

Hi Paboff, the issue you’ve described is common when operating a dropshipping business model. Shopify’s native tracking generally redirects to the carrier’s website, which, as you’ve noted, is not ideal and does not allow you to engage your customers post-purchase.

To get around this, I recommend adding ParcelPanel Order Tracking to your store. The app will give you more control over the post-purchase phase by allowing you to create and add a branded tracking page to your store. Moreover, in the settings, you can select the option to auto-update Shopify’s native tracking to lead customers to your tracking page instead of the carrier.

Lastly, and most importantly, with a simple toggle switch, you can mask all dropshipping information so that it does not show up on the customer’s end.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask any follow-up questions.
