Due to merchandise restrictions, your store is not displayed to viewers in United States.

I’m located in the US and have linked my YouTube Channel to Shopify, Upon clicking on the YouTube “store” tab I get this message “Due to merchandise restrictions, your store is not displayed to viewers in United States”.

Any idea’s as to what is causing this? There should be no restrictions to selling to US viewers

Thank you, Michael

I’m having the same problem and YouTube support has not been helpful at all. Anyone know how to fix this?

Any updates on this? I’m getting this same error.

Hi @jeffchooper and others,

You’ll want to be sure that you have set the United States as a target country within the Google channel in the Shopify admin. You can head to Settings > Product Feed Settings > Target Country and Language section within the channel and check that the US is added here.

If you have done this and are still getting this error, can you please let me know if you have other countries set as target countries within your Google Merchant Center please?

I spent a lot of time troubleshooting and eventually the error went away on its own and the store items started displaying.

Prior to that, I checked the items victor mentioned below, but they were already set correctly.

Hi. I have same problem, but i am from Ukraine. Any idea how can i fix this?

Hey Victor, in my case, the error went away after a day. I think it’s a waiting period for verification. I hope that is the case for you too.

I’ve done this and both locations are set to US. Any ideas why this is happening?

I did just set up the connection between my YouTube channel and my Shopify store.

This was not helpful. I’ve been trying to get my store connected to youtube for almost 2 months now. I have done EVERYTHING. It says my target location is the United States. always has been set that way but I continue to get this error. I have an estimate of over $300 to do this simple task . Why is this so hard?

Hello Victor,

We have tried it and followed your steps. But the problem hasn’t been solved.
